Hi Meateor, does this really charge a Sprint evo?
I have an evo also and plugged in my minty boost 2.0 (that works on my sandisk player) and it won’t charge it. I set it at 100k, pull up.
Looked like the evo started to charge then it changed to a not charging sign. Also I noticed that the minty boost was getting very hot.
Now it doesn’t even start to try to charge and the minty dosn’t get warm but the minty still charges the sandisk and the evo work on it’s charger.
I really need an off line solution for charging the evo.
Thanks
Marc
Hi Marc,
Yes, it really does work, but I am using a Mightymintyboost, which contains a charge controller and a LiPo battery (2000mah) in addition to the standard Mintyboost 2.0. I don’t know enough about electricity to know why it works and yours doesn’t.
You could make a Mightymintyboost yourself. About $50 or so in parts I think. BTW, I added 2 more solar cells to mine (5v 100mah x 3) to charge faster. Still takes forever. The great thing about the Mightymintyboost is that you can charge it by USB as well. You don’t don’t really need the solar if that’s not your deal.
To be honest, since I commute (in a car) and work at a computer, my EVO is practically always near a power source, so I haven’t really had a lot of need for the mintyboost.
Good luck!
Paul
Thanks Paul, I ordered the parts today. This will really help me out.
